Drastically pulling back from the hyper-complex drill and bass sequencing of his legendary 90s output, Tom Jenkinson focuses heavily on live instrumentation, particularly blistering funk bass and electric guitar. The album conceptually imagines a surreal performance by an 'ultra-band' in a daydream, resulting in a manic, highly virtuosic fusion of jazz-rock and electronics. It offered a wildly unhinged, playful departure from traditional IDM.
