Produced again by Dan Carey, 'O Monolith' evolves Squid's wiry post-punk into a more spacious and compositionally patient form, shaped by its recording process in a rural studio. [1, 7] The album integrates pastoral elements like woodwinds and choral arrangements with the band's signature interlocking rhythms and explosive dynamics, creating a soundscape that is both refined and chaotic.
