Break the Cycle

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Steering away from the pure, aggressive nu-metal of their early career, Aaron Lewis navigated the band toward a highly emotional, acoustic-driven strain of post-grunge. Propelled to massive mainstream success by the omnipresent acoustic single 'It's Been Awhile', the album deeply resonated with its unflinching exploration of depression, family dysfunction, and personal addiction. It cemented the blueprint for the softer, more melodic wave of heavy rock in the 2000s.
