Co-produced by Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst, 'Dysfunction' served as a massive commercial breakthrough for the Massachusetts rock quartet. The album combines brooding, down-tuned alternative metal riffs with Aaron Lewis's intensely vulnerable, angst-ridden vocals, strongly helping to pivot the nu-metal genre toward darker, more introspective emotional territories.
