Red Burns

Presented as a continuous, hour-long audio collage, 'Red Burns' serves as an experimental sonic scrapbook of New York City. The collective constructs a hazy and unpredictable soundscape by blending elements of avant-garde jazz, hip-hop, soul, and funk with a dense layering of samples, distortion, poetry, and mock radio broadcasts. Created in collaboration with local artists like MIKE and sLUms, the work explores themes of post-colonial trauma and urban frustration, with its September 11th release date intentionally contextualizing the city's unforgiving character and vulnerability.
