Album Notes & Community Reviews

A sprawling double album split between vibrant live performances and slick studio sessions, 'I Wanna Play for You' highlights the virtuoso bassist at the peak of his commercial crossover. Stanley Clarke seamlessly fuses deeply complex jazz improvisation with highly accessible, slap-heavy funk grooves. The project perfectly captures the exuberant, stadium-sized energy of late-seventies fusion.
