Album Notes & Community Reviews

Pioneering the use of the custom-built, polyphonic 'Stardrive' synthesizer, Robert Mason's ensemble delivers a wildly eccentric collision of cosmic electronic experimentation and heavily syncopated funk. Featuring contributions from Michael Brecker and Steve Gadd, the session is characterized by squelching synthesizer leads, rapid-fire brass sections, and a deeply chaotic, science-fiction aesthetic. The record stands as a fascinating, deeply funky artifact of the early analog synthesizer era.
