Album Notes & Community Reviews

Following a contentious legal battle and the departure of Paul Kantner, this album launched the highly commercial, synthesized era of the Jefferson Airplane lineage under a new, abbreviated moniker. 'Knee Deep in the Hoopla' completely abandoned any residual psychedelic rock in favor of pristine, keyboard-heavy 80s arena pop. Buoyed by the massive, ubiquitous number-one singles 'We Built This City' and 'Sara', it achieved massive commercial success while drawing intense ire from rock purists.
