Album Notes & Community Reviews
Marking a significant lineup change with the addition of accordionist John Kirkpatrick and the temporary return of Martin Carthy, Steeleye Span delivers a robust folk-rock effort with 'Storm Force Ten'. The band leans heavily into complex traditional arrangements and sea shanties, largely stripping back the commercial pop sheen of their mid-70s hits. The recording stands as a powerful, dramatic interpretation of ancient English folklore.
