Album Notes & Community Reviews

British folk rock band Steeleye Span recorded their nineteenth studio album 'Winter' at Warehouse Studios in Oxford, produced by the band themselves with Maddy Prior, Peter Knight, Rick Kemp, Liam Genockey and Ken Nicol in the line-up. Their first Christmas album, its fourteen tracks move from 'The First Nowell', 'Hark! The Herald Angels Sing' and 'In the Bleak Midwinter' to three new neo-pagan pieces and the spiritual 'Blow Your Trumpet Gabriel', the first time the band had drawn on that tradition.
