Album Notes & Community Reviews

Classical violinist Yehudi Menuhin and French jazz violinist St茅phane Grappelli, whose duets on British television in the early 1970s became a series of EMI albums, play a programme of 1930s standards on 'Fascinating Rhythm', the second album in that Music of the Thirties sequence. Grappelli, who had made his name alongside Django Reinhardt in the Quintette du Hot Club de France, reportedly wrote out Menuhin's solos for their partnership, and the record pairs his improvising fluency with Menuhin's classical precision.
