Album Notes & Community Reviews
John-Michael Tebelak built 'Godspell' from his Carnegie Mellon master's thesis, dramatizing the Gospel of Matthew as a series of parables played by a clowning ensemble, with songs by Stephen Schwartz. Robin Lamont's 'Day by Day' became a top ten radio hit the summer after the Cherry Lane Theatre opening, and the recording won the Grammy Award for Best Score from an Original Cast Show Album.
