Album Notes & Community Reviews
This masterful collaboration seamlessly unites Gunn's virtuosic, American Primitivism-inspired guitar playing with the traditional, acoustic string-band arrangements of the Virginia-based collective. 'Seasonal Hire' utilizes banjos, fiddles, and deeply meditative, droning instrumental structures to evoke sweeping Appalachian landscapes. It is a profoundly pastoral, incredibly lush, and beautifully melancholic celebration of historic American roots music.
