Sélébéyone

Album Notes & Community Reviews

The acclaimed avant-garde saxophonist bridges complex, spectral jazz composition with bilingual, subterranean hip-hop on this wildly ambitious project. The record features two emcees rapping in both English and Wolof over an incredible collision of fiery horn improvisations and abstract, electronic drum programming. It stands as a fiercely technical, groundbreaking integration of modern jazz and underground rap aesthetics.
