Originally conceived entirely as a solo project following his stint with Steve Vai, Devin Townsend poured his intense frustration with the music industry into a blisteringly chaotic, hyper-aggressive parody of extreme metal. The incredibly dense, mechanical production blends ferocious thrash riffs with swirling synthesizers and his distinctively unhinged, multi-tracked vocal performances. The wildly manic debut laid the groundwork for his highly acclaimed, Wall of Sound extreme metal aesthetic.
