In Search of Stoney Jackson

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Produced entirely by underground beat-making legend Madlib, the California rap trio's second studio album is a sprawling showcase of intricate boom-bap production. The highly collaborative project features a vast array of underground guest vocalists, allowing Madlib's eccentric, sample-heavy instrumentals to dictate the record's warm, slightly disjointed flow. It serves as a defining testament to West Coast underground hip-hop in the late 2000s.
