Recorded entirely live in a single room by legendary grunge producer Kurt Ballou, the third album from Aaron Turner's sludge metal trio is an overwhelmingly dense, sprawling colossus. Comprised of just four tracks clocking in over an hour, the record heavily leans into terrifying, free-jazz-inspired improvisational passages that ultimately collapse back into devastatingly heavy doom riffs. It cemented their status as master architects of highly experimental, punishingly heavy metal.
