A Fireside Chat With Lucifer

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Released during a prolific period of recording for the Arkestra, this album contains some of Ra's most direct political commentary, specifically addressing the dread of nuclear proliferation. The music shifts from driving, relatively accessible post-bop grooves into sprawling, chaotic free jazz improvisations. The record is highlighted by the massive, twenty-minute title track, featuring intense collective dissonance and Ra's unhinged synthesizer work.
