Album Notes & Community Reviews

Utilizing a large ensemble, Sun Ra eschews the traditional swing of his Chicago years for spacious, dissonant collective improvisations. Prominent use of the bass marimba, electronic celesta, and sudden dynamic shifts create a tense, unpredictable atmosphere that defines his space-oriented avant-garde phase.
