Sunshine

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Recorded in Paris amidst a thriving community of expatriate American jazz musicians, 'Sunshine' captures the pioneering drummer exploring the outer limits of free improvisation. Sunny Murray's playing is notoriously fluid and non-metered, anchoring a chaotic, densely dissonant session that features frantic interplay from saxophonists Kenneth Terroade and Arthur Jones. The album stands as a relentless, highly concentrated dose of the European free jazz avant-garde.
