The fourth and final studio album before Spencer Krug's project entered an extended hiatus, this record transitions away from their chaotic indie-prog origins into a tighter, more direct guitar-oriented rock sound. The songs remain incredibly ambitious, utilizing shifting time signatures and dense, mythical lyricism, but feature a much cleaner, muscular production style. It serves as a triumphant, highly focused culmination of the Canadian band's esoteric career.
