Album Notes & Community Reviews

As one of the earliest champions of the bossa nova movement, the vocalist delivers a sophisticated, impeccably phrased collection of modern Brazilian standards. The lush orchestral arrangements support her warm, intimate delivery without overwhelming the subtle, syncopated rhythms of the compositions. The album is a foundational text in the transition of Brazilian popular music toward a sleeker, jazz-informed aesthetic.
