Album Notes & Community Reviews

Heavily influenced by Dante's Inferno, the American progressive metal veterans deliver a dark, exceptionally tight conceptual record. Michael Romeo's virtuosic neoclassical guitar playing remains at the forefront, but the songwriting is noticeably streamlined and aggressively paced compared to their earlier, sprawling epics. Russell Allen's powerful, raspy vocal performance anchors the album's descent into hellish mythology.
