Despite initially failing to match the commercial success of her previous works, Taeko Ohnuki's 'Mignonne' is now rightfully celebrated as a masterpiece of Japanese City Pop. The album is incredibly lush and profoundly soothing, pairing beautifully soft, romantic vocal melodies with wonderfully mellow, highly rhythmic jazz-funk arrangements.
