On the Steps of the Temple

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Operating entirely without a vocalist, the Arizona-based duo constructs massive, cinematic narratives solely through intricate extreme metal instrumentation. The self-released debut masterfully balances the crushing, slow-motion weight of sludge metal with the sprawling, tremolo-picked crescendos associated with post-rock. The resulting album is a deeply evocative, highly dynamic journey that demands complete immersion despite the absence of any lyrical storytelling.
