Album Notes & Community Reviews

Expanding significantly on their trademark intricate three-part vocal harmonies, 'Totally Crushed Out!' frames That Dog's infectious power-pop strictly within narrative themes of youthful romance and inevitable heartbreak. The album's punchy, occasionally lo-fi aesthetic is elegantly contrasted and elevated by sophisticated violin arrangements, courtesy of band member Petra Haden. It serves as a quintessential, often overlooked gem of mid-90s alternative rock, perfectly bridging the stylistic gap between riot grrrl energy and classical pop melodicism.
