Continuing their successful 2010s reunion, Greg Dulli leads the alternative rock veterans through an incredibly dark, soul-inflected eighth album. The record relies on heavy, atmospheric guitar riffs interwoven with brass and cinematic string sections, capturing a deeply nocturnal, slightly sinister romanticism. Tragically, guitarist Dave Rosser passed away shortly after its release, lending the album a profound, melancholic weight.
