Sod-Buster Ballads

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Shifting their focus slightly from urban industrial unions, the pioneering folk collective tackles traditional material concerning pioneer life and agricultural hardship. The raw, communal vocal approach actively resisted commercial polish, aiming instead for political authenticity and populist resonance. The album represents an early, vital attempt to align historical folk narratives with contemporary progressive causes.
