My Boyfriend's Back

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Defined by its universally recognized, handclap-driven title track, this project embodies the assertive, confrontational edge of the mid-century girl group sound. The lead vocals deliver teenage narratives with a distinctly rebellious, street-smart attitude that separated them from more polished contemporaries. The album is a quintessential slice of the Brill Building pop manufacturing machine operating at peak commercial efficiency.
