Album Notes & Community Reviews

Often credited as 'Eric Burdon & The Animals', this album saw the frontman completely dismantle the gritty R&B sound of his original group to embrace the Monterey Pop-era counterculture. The resulting music is heavily steeped in acid rock, featuring spoken-word poetry, swirling sitars, and grand tributes to his new West Coast peers. It is a wildly eclectic, slightly uneven, but fascinating document of a blues icon adopting the psychedelic lifestyle.
