Album Notes & Community Reviews

Relocating from Australia to London, Peter Milton Walsh crafted a staggeringly literate and melancholic debut that stood entirely apart from the prevailing trends of independent pop. 'The Evening Visits... And Stays for Years' eschews typical rock instrumentation in favor of lush, orchestral chamber-pop arrangements and weeping trumpet lines. The deeply nocturnal, romantic pessimism of the songwriting has secured the record an enduring legacy as a masterpiece of outsider balladry.
