Exploding out of Athens, Georgia, The B-52's delivered one of the most uniquely colorful, intensely joyful debuts of the post-punk era. Propelled by Ricky Wilson's jagged surf-rock guitars and Fred Schneider's deeply humorous sprechgesang, the album is a highly energetic, wonderfully quirky celebration of B-movie sci-fi and kitschy party aesthetics.
