Album Notes & Community Reviews

Conceived during a period of immense personal and commercial strain, the Irish band's sixth album relies on dense, heavily synthesized new wave production. Bob Geldof's cynical, socially conscious lyricism dominates 'In the Long Grass', pushing further away from their punk rock origins. The record failed to reverse their declining commercial fortunes prior to Geldof's monumental Live Aid efforts.
