Album Notes & Community Reviews

The Memphis group attempted to exert greater creative control on this release, featuring several original compositions alongside standard covers. While still anchored by Alex Chilton's remarkably mature, gravelly vocals, the album signals the band's struggle to transcend their highly produced, hit-making origins.
