Album Notes & Community Reviews

Capitalizing on the breakout success of their chart-topping title track, the debut LP from the Chicago-based band reveals a group transitioning from gritty garage rock to a polished, horn-driven pop sound. The album serves as an early, highly successful template for the brass-heavy rock ensembles that would proliferate in the following decade. The production seamlessly blends teen-oriented hooks with sophisticated rhythm and blues arrangements.
