Album Notes & Community Reviews

Yielding to label pressures for a more commercial sound, the Sheffield band softened their brooding post-punk intensity in favor of polished, synthesizer-led new wave. 'Land' incorporates prominent Roland rhythms and slicker production aimed at the burgeoning AOR market, featuring the minor hit single 'Independence Day'. The stylistic pivot polarized their original, critically fervent fanbase.
