Album Notes & Community Reviews

Recorded after the departure of founding co-songwriter Chris Stamey, this release finds Peter Holsapple taking full creative control of the critically adored power-pop outfit. The album leans into a punchier, more straightforward rock sound, sacrificing some of their earlier eccentricity for sharper, more accessible jangle-pop melodies. It was notably their first release to achieve major distribution within the United States.
