The notoriously abrasive New Zealand trio continued their absolute deconstruction of rock instrumentation with this incredibly dense, remarkably lo-fi experimental masterpiece. The lethargic, heavily improvised compositions blur the lines between excruciatingly slow post-rock and completely structureless, feedback-driven drone. The remarkably challenging, deeply isolating recording cemented their legacy as uncompromising vanguards of the international free-noise underground.
