Album Notes & Community Reviews

Originating from the Boston underground, the band's debut album is a gritty, unpretentious blast of American roots rock and garage punk. Dan Zanes' gravelly vocals and the group's rough-hewn, bluesy arrangements directly challenged the synthesizer-dominated pop landscape of the era. The record helped lay the foundation for the subsequent Americana and roots-rock revivals of the late 80s.
