Produced by Matt Goldman and Killswitch Engage's Adam Dutkiewicz, the record incorporates elements of sludge and post-hardcore, yielding a raw, highly abrasive guitar tone. The mature, intensely melancholic songwriting marked a critical evolution from their earlier, more heavily synthesized scene-core roots.
