Album Notes & Community Reviews

Neil Hannon aggressively expanded his lush baroque-pop soundscapes into a highly theatrical, conceptually driven exploration of male sexuality and ego. The elaborate orchestral arrangements perfectly complement the arch, darkly humorous lyricism that satirizes the excesses of the contemporary Britpop movement. The unexpected commercial success established Hannon as a uniquely literate and eccentric voice within the UK indie scene.
