Album Notes & Community Reviews
Abandoning the theatrical, orchestral bombast of their earlier Britpop successes, Neil Hannon enlisted producer Nigel Godrich to craft a notably more somber and stripped-down record. 'Regeneration' trades sharp, satirical wit for earnest introspection, wrapping melancholic reflections on aging and romance in lush, subdued chamber pop arrangements.
