Album Notes & Community Reviews

Orchestrated brilliantly by Detroit producer Tony Hester, the debut from this vocal quintet is a gritty, heavily orchestrated triumph of early 70s soul. Blending cinematic, sweeping string arrangements with tough funk basslines and impeccable five-part harmonies, the album yielded the massive, enduring hit 'In the Rain'. It stands as a vital counterpoint to the smoother Philadelphia sound, maintaining a distinctly tougher edge.
