Album Notes & Community Reviews

Showcasing the Ben E. King-led lineup of The Drifters, 'Save the Last Dance for Me' compiles hits that practically defined the Brill Building era's intersection with R&B. Produced by Leiber and Stoller, it utilized innovative string arrangements and Latin rhythms, pioneering the sophisticated 'sweet soul' sound. It remains a hallmark of high-fidelity 60s vocal group production.
