Pressured by Factory Records head Tony Wilson to compose a structured, long-form instrumental piece, Vini Reilly partially abandoned his signature delay-drenched electric guitar for this ambitious project. The two-part suite heavily features piano, viola, and trumpet, pushing the boundaries of neo-classical chamber music. It represents a significant compositional leap for Reilly, showcasing his profound melancholic elegance beyond standard rock instrumentation.
