Album Notes & Community Reviews

Marking the highly anticipated return of guitarist Brix Smith Start after a six-year absence, the profoundly prolific post-punk veterans delivered a noticeably more focused, guitar-driven record. Mark E. Smith's brilliantly cryptic, highly sardonic lyricism clashes aggressively with the remarkably tight, unexpectedly melodic indie-rock arrangements and prominent electronic elements. The remarkably revitalized, highly eclectic recording stands out as one of their most consistently engaging releases of the 1990s.
