Co-produced by Peter Buck of R.E.M., 'The Good Earth' trades the nervous, post-punk anxiety of The Feelies' debut for a remarkably warm, pastoral jangle-pop sound. The album is defined by its pristine, interlocking acoustic guitar strumming and mellow, deeply rhythmic percussion. It is a peaceful, highly melodic triumph that perfectly encapsulates the rustic side of 80s American indie rock.
