Album Notes & Community Reviews

Working with producer Rupert Hine, the British quintet crafted a sleek, atmospheric debut that perfectly balanced anxious tension with accessible pop sensibilities. 'Shuttered Room' yielded early MTV staples like 'Stand or Fall' and 'Red Skies', notable for their angular guitar riffs and politically conscious, Cold War-themed lyricism. The record effectively launched their long-running string of international modern rock successes.
