Album Notes & Community Reviews

The Compton rapper's fifth studio album operates as a fascinating, highly contradictory concept record examining the deep friction between his profound Christian faith and his gang-affiliated lifestyle. The production is incredibly lush and heavily reliant on soulful choir samples, contrasting sharply with incredibly aggressive, frequently violent street narratives and an overwhelming roster of high-profile guest verses. It marked his final release on Interscope Records, signifying the end of a major era in his career.
