Album Notes & Community Reviews
Sean O'Hagan notably strips away the group's signature electronic embellishments and prominent rhythm section in favor of an entirely acoustic, profoundly orchestral approach. The meticulously arranged strings, brass, and delicate vocal harmonies create a lush, pastoral atmosphere heavily indebted to classic mid-century film scores and Brian Wilson's most ambitious orchestration. It stands as one of the band's most beautiful and focused compositional achievements.
